LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Next Tuesday, August 10, neighbors and community members will have the chance to view the 4th Street housing development project.
Developer, Cinnaire Solutions, is seeking public input on what the project should look like and what the project itself can offer neighborhood residents.
Cinnaire Solutions, which was chosen as a developer by the city’s community development committee, says its current proposal is a four-story, sixty-five-unit apartment building with a mix of studios and 1-unit, 2 and 3 bedrooms.
Located between Mississippi and Jackson streets at the south end of 4th Street, the proposed housing project is expected to complete construction in the summer of 2024.
Development manager Elisabeth Rask says now is the time to voice opinions on the needs of the neighborhood and how it can help with housing issues in La Crosse before the final drawings and plans are drawn up.
âWe would be happy to receive comments from anyone on the design and site plan,â said Rask. “As well as any concerns or questions people might have. I hope as many neighbors as possible can join us in this.”
In addition to a few units rented at market rates, most apartments will be affordable for low to moderate income families. Additional housing will also be reserved for the homeless.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The meeting location is located at Bluffview Park Shelter at 2800 Jackson Street, La Crosse.
