Fall classes are about to start at Niagara County Community College (NCCC) and before the students return we’ll be looking at some new additions to the Sanborn campus.

said we are super excited for this new space; this is a state of the art facility that has just been commissioned for this semester here. They have twenty duo monitor PC stations that will be ready for gaming when the semester is up, and we’ll also have three TVs for console gaming. Christian says they will be open to both casual play for anyone who is interested and then competitive play through the NJCAA with other schools competing directly against them for titles and things like that and it will be really exciting. .

Christian says it’s their inaugural season here and we’re still building teams and recruiting students, so we’re open to anyone who wants to come and take a look and we’re ready to compete. in the coming seasons for our games and a bunch of various titles against other schools in the area.

When asked what types of courses are offered to NCCC students, Christian says the course they are most looking to collaborate with will be the Advanced Computer Programming course where students could potentially come here and work with their own creations. games or use some existing titles to collaborate between the classroom and the casual space.

August 25e 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. is their official launch party. They are going to have an official ribbon cut. Christian says that everyone who wants to come is seeing their space functional for the first time; play games, there will also be food, hang out and see the space in action.

The second novelty is the newly renovated multipurpose gym. The new auxiliary gymnasium is the home of the Thunder Wolves. Amanda Haseley, Sports Director, says our first and best feature is the synthetic turf that we have and that makes us unique in New York State because we are one of the few that have it. They also have new upholstery for the walls, bright colors, new lighting, they reused some of the netting so it’s extremely exciting for us.

Who is using this new space and what kind of lessons do you have here? Amanda says Monday through Friday it will be academics first. She goes on to say that they offer physical education and personal health training, so they will offer classes here usually from 8am to noon and then in the afternoon, it’s fair game. She says every sports team they offer here will compete for practice time and that baseball, softball, and soccer are usually the first to schedule, but all sports at some point will want to come here to use it. .
