Hybrid cloud computing will be the result of a public-private partnership
The object of the envisaged project is the establishment, management and eventual upgrade of a hybrid computing cloud, which will be implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology in cooperation with the private sector, presumably in through a public-private partnership. The project aims to provide additional IT support to simplify and optimize access to departmental funds.
Over the 2022-2023 period, the Ministry will provide financial support for the development of a reference architectural model, the establishment of a digital infrastructure, as well as the development and deployment of two pilot digital applications (e-identity and single window for tenders). After a successful trial period at the Ministry, the model could then be used in other institutions. In the case of a public-private partnership concession, the further development of the hybrid cloud and its upgrading with additional services or applications for different target groups are planned.
Operating expenses in 2022 and 2023, estimated at a maximum of 2,500,000 euros excluding tax, will be borne by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and those from 2024 by a private partner or a consortium of companies.
