International Vision Charity announces the composition of its Board of Directors

(PRESS RELEASE) GoodVision USA, a nonprofit organization that brings dignity and opportunity for good vision to poor people around the world, welcomes Olivia “Dibby” Bartlett to its Board of Directors. A recent past president of the Opticians Association of America and COO of Todd Rogers Eyewear, Dibby has tackled just about every job imaginable in the optical industry – from retail to professional to teaching. . She was voted one of Vision Monday’s Most Influential Women of 2018 and 2020. Dibby is highly respected in the optical industry and will bring her considerable talents and networks to assist in the life-changing work. GoodVision life.

Blair Wong has been a board member since the founding of GoodVision USA in 2019. He is Department Chair and Founder of the Department of Eye Health Technology and Opticianry at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston MA and has taught optics at New England College of Optometry. Blair is executive director of the Massachusetts Association of Opticians and director of the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners. He shifted his career to teaching ophthalmic optics and eye health technology after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, an incurable disease leading to blindness, at the age of 26. Blair has been instrumental in guiding GoodVision’s direction and is a beloved industry leader.

A founding member of GoodVisionUSA, Kathy Smith is secretary of the board of directors. From the start, Kathy was impressed with GoodVision’s sustainable way of improving lives through eyewear. In 2019, she traveled with a GoodVision International team to Burkina Faso and saw firsthand the impact of the nonprofit organization. She brings her past experience in programming and data management. Her desire to help others is why she is part of GoodVision.

Karsten Wolf, appointed Director of the Board of Directors of GoodVisionUSA, is also a member of the Board of Directors of our parent organization, EinDollarBrille eV Germany. His responsibilities include human resources, legal and information technology. His in-depth knowledge of the organization and its operations is invaluable. He holds a master’s degree in economics and organizational sciences and has worked all his life in public institutions and non-profit organizations. He is very committed to GoodVision’s dual goals of providing high quality eye care and eyewear to people in underserved communities and creating local infrastructure that strengthens communities and supports jobs.

Treasurer Sally Hunt also joined the GoodVision USA Board of Directors in 2022. After a long career in operations management, project management, software development, systems analysis, computer programming and support client, Sally brings a broad and valuable skill set to GoodVision USA. In her first year on the board, she has already improved our record keeping and modernized our financial infrastructure. Sally has worn glasses since the age of eight and greatly appreciates the importance of good eyesight. She is thrilled to be part of an organization that will improve the lives of so many.
