Yakuza 8 Developer Provides Brief Development Update

Yakuza: like a dragon launched in the west in November 2020, but even though it hasn’t been long since the RPG launched, fans of the series are still eager to hear more about what the future holds. Of course, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has already confirmed that it has several projects in development, one of which is next. Yakuza game, and while we still don’t have too many new details, we do have a brief development update.

In a recent livestream (via Twinfinite), Masayoshi Yokoyama – who was confirmed as the developer‘s new head of studio in October last year – said that the development of Yakuza 8 (or whatever it’s called), is progressing well. According to Yokoyama, the game’s story writing work is almost complete, while some actors have also started recording.

Yokoyama also said that new information about the game could be coming later this year, although at this time not much else is known about it. In November last year, it was confirmed that the game would take place several years after Yakuza: like a dragonwith Ichiban Kasuga returning as the protagonist, while the developers also said that like its predecessor, Yakuza 8 will be a turn-based RPG.
